Story Blurb

The viral TikTok friends-to-lovers dark romantic comedy full of murder, chaos, and sizzling chemistry—unlike anything you’ve read before—now available in all bookstores

When a chance encounter sparks an unlikely bond between rival murderers Sloane and Rowan, they find something elusive—the friendship of two like-minded, pitch-black souls who just happen to enjoy killing other serial killers.

From small-town West Virginia to upscale California, and from downtown Boston to rural Texas, the two hunters collide in an annual game of blood and suffering, one that pits them against the most dangerous monsters in the country.

But as their friendship develops into something more, the restless ghosts left in their wake are only a few steps behind, ready to claim more than just their newfound love.

Can Rowan and Sloane dig themselves out of a game of graves?

Or have they finally met their match?

My Thoughts/Opinion

I have heard mixed reviews on this book, but it was one I wanted to try because it was such a unique premise and sometimes I like to read for a different mood/vibe. If you have a squeamish stomach and the macabre is a deal-breaker for you, do NOT read this book. Fortunately for me, I don't so I got to read a really good romance with two troubled MCs. My absolutely favorite part of this book was banter between Rowan and Sloane. So so good. There's plenty of spice in this book, too, and a very satisfying HEA. There is a long long list of trigger warnings at the beginning of this book and the author hits them all, so don't take that list lightly. I enjoyed the book and will likely read on to the other two in this trilogy.

Favorite Quote:

“He’s Rowan,” Sloane says, gesturing at me again. Rose narrows her eyes as though this is insufficient information. “He’s my f-fr…boy. Guy. A man-guy. I’m…with. Here.”

I snort a laugh as Rose’s face scrunches. “Man-guy,” I echo. “Real smooth, Blackbird.”
